South Jaipur holds most of the city's private engineering and university campuses. Poornima College of Engineering sits in the RIICO Institutional Area at Sitapura. JECRC University and Poornima University are further out at Sitapura Extension near Vidhani and Ramchandrapura. Jaipur National University is at Jagatpura on the Jaipur to Agra bypass. Between them they bring in thousands of families every year for admission, counselling, hostel move-in, exams, convocation and simple weekend visits.
What those families discover is that the campuses sit inside institutional and industrial areas where there is very little to stay in and not much to eat after dark. The practical base is Malviya Nagar, which is on the same side of the city, between the campuses and everything else you might need.

This trips up more families than anything else, because several institutions share a name across two different addresses. Check the address on your call letter, not the college name alone.
Sitapura and Sitapura Extension are not the same place and the Extension campuses are several kilometres further out. If you plug the wrong one into a maps app on the morning of counselling, you will arrive at the wrong gate with an hour lost. Add ten to fifteen minutes in the morning, when college buses and Sitapura shift traffic share the same roads. For a 9 or 10 AM reporting time at a Sitapura Extension campus, leave by about 8 AM.
Admission season means multiple visits, sometimes across several days: form submission, counselling rounds, document verification, fee payment and seat confirmation. Families frequently plan for one day and end up needing three. Book flexibly, keep the room for an extra night rather than checking out and re-booking, and ask about the weekly rate if the process stretches.
Carry originals and photocopies of the marksheets, transfer certificate, migration certificate, category and domicile certificates where applicable, entrance exam scorecard and ID. Sorting the folder on a room table the night before beats sorting it in a queue.
Shifting day is a logistics problem. A car or tempo full of bedding, buckets, a trunk, books and a cooler, a hostel that allows entry only in certain hours, and a family that has driven several hundred kilometres. Free on-site parking here means you can park the loaded vehicle overnight, sleep, and go to campus fresh in the morning rather than doing the whole thing at the end of a long drive. Tell the front desk if boxes need to be unloaded or kept for a night.
Convocation brings both parents and often grandparents, usually for a single day with a fixed reporting time and a dress code. Family rooms from ₹1,399 hold three or four people, which is simpler and cheaper than two rooms. Book early for convocation dates because the whole batch's families are booking the same weekend.
Then there are the unplanned trips. A student is unwell, an exam has gone badly, someone needs a parent for a day.
